| Online Tutoring Available for Military Families Posted: 16 Jun 2010 08:55 PM PDT BREMERTON Local military families can now get free online tutoring and career help from Tutor.com. A meeting to introduce the service is planned for 7 to 8 p.m. Monday at Jackson Park Community Center on Olding Road. The program, provided by the Department of Defense, allows K-12 students, adult learners and career seekers to connect to a live tutor online at any time for help with homework, studying, test preparation and resume writing. Tutor.com representatives will explain how the program works, and those who already use it will share their stories. Light refreshments will be served. To RSVP and for more information, contact Heather Carrell at heather.carrell@navy.mil or (360) 813-3039. | New tutoring business sends kids to the dogs Posted: 17 Jun 2010 02:11 AM PDT

But Online learning is also an idea whose time has come and is finding increasing favor with both students and parents. Online tutoring is a comparative novel concept, but seeing the advantages it has over traditional tutoring, it seems it is here to stay. Without sounding like an advertisement, I would like to share my experiences with Eduwizards (http://www.eduwizards.com/) an online tutoring service that is a path breaker in this field. They have a huge tutor bank, give free trials, offer tutor reviews to help select the right tutor and are available for all subjects and grades. The tutoring sessions are conducted on an interactive white board with voice and are fascinating for the students. Dogs are OK as a tutoring tool, but online tutoring is the way to go!
