| Freshmen face mandatory after-school tutoring in 2011-2012 Posted: 03 Mar 2011 10:10 PM PST PAGE ��Incoming high school freshmen whose grades fall below a C will face mandatory tutoring sessions next school year. Page High School Principal Perry Berry pitched the idea of a new freshman schedule to school board members in early February but didn't know at that time how much it might cost the district to manage the program and to pay teachers a tutoring stipend.� Berry told board members at their March 1 meeting he could use existing grants to cover all costs for at least the first year and that he hoped to secure additional grant money to continue the program beyond that. "Funding is always going to be an issue," Superintendent Jim Walker added. "But we also have (federal) Title I money that we could use." For the complete article see the 03-09-2011 issue.
