Tutoring service operator charged with sexual assault

The operator of a GTA tutoring business has been charged in Peel region in the sexual assault of two teenaged females.

Peel Regional Police said Wednesday in a news release that their investigation revealed the suspect operates six branches in the following municipalities:

  • Toronto (2)
  • Mississauga (2)
  • Brampton
  • Vaughan

Detectives say they are concerned there may be other victims. They urge any such individuals to contact them at (905) 453-2121, ext. 3460.

In the meantime, Phong Mai, 34, of Toronto has been charged with the following:

  • sexual assault (two counts)
  • sexual exploitation
  • sexual interference

He was scheduled to appear in a Brampton court on Wednesday.

No allegations against Mai have been proven in a court of law.
